Half A Decade...

Hey Everyone,

Wow, feels like forever since I blogged and I have so much to talk about I don't know where to start!

Well Sunday was mine and the fiance's 5th anniversary! I surprised him with a three day mini-break to Bournemouth, staying in a lovely hotel called The Royal Bath.

He surprised me with a fantastic union jack cushion and a beautiful three panel dressing table mirror I had wanted for literally years (he obviously listens to my ooohs and ahhs when we window shop!) He also treated us to a luscious bottle of Rose MOET - how classy!

So Sunday morning we headed off to Bournemouth. I didn't quite know what to expect from the hotel but was hoping it would be nice! We we're pleasantly surprised. It was beautiful, classic and classy. We had a lovely room....

...with a fantastic view of the sea beyond...

On the first day (our anniversary) we enjoyed a picnic I'd packed in the park, despite the questionable weather (wind and clouds) we braved the beach for a quick play!

We spent a lot of time in the hotel, using the spa facilities and enjoying afternoon tea as the wind was unbelievable.

On Monday, we braved the bracing winds (after a morning of swimming, steaming and jacuzzi...ing?) and walked from the Bournemouth pier all the way to Boscombe pier along the beach. I particularly enjoyed the beautifully colourful beach huts! I decided we'll buy a pink one one day!

Then we walked back along the cliffside - getting buffeted. By the time we were back it was time for lunch but we decided on a lovely afternoon tea...

We of course had a chippy tea.

Then yesterday the wind died down and we spent the morning on the beach (after another swim and jacuzzi)

Stupidly we both got a little burnt. Then we headed home - very sad it was all over.

For once we both relaxed, I read and just sat thinking of nothing but the beautiful blue skies and the sounds of the ocean.

Me Relaxing!

Now were back to reality (lots of washing to do...) and tomorrow back to the grind.

Although, another beautiful bloomed rose was waiting for me...

We have some lovely memories to last us until next year (when our anniversary will be a quick celebration 4 days before our big day!)

Oh and some stolen toiletries to remind us lol...

(I can't be the only one who does this surely!? I love to set them out in my bathroom for 'guests')

Also, guess what I found? A little ring hidden in the sand on the beach....

...And a collection of pretty shells...

Now I'm off to wash the the sand out of my hair!

Jewel x

P.S. I have lots more to blog about but I will do it a little at a time!
