Afternoon Tea at The Berkley...

Hey Everyone...

I hope you are all well? Thank you for all the lovely comments on my last post - it's good to know that you won't all abandon me if I have a sponsored post or two.

Anyway it's back on track to catching up with a lot of lovely things that have happened since the wedding - I am trying to keep them in order, which means this lovely day happened just after we returned back from honeymoon all the way back in June!

As a special treat to keep that magic feeling after returning from honeymoon, the husband and I had booked ourselves afternoon at The Berkley...

I had never been to The Berkley before but had heard great things about their afternoon tea...

This tea however, was no ordinary afternoon tea, this was a special themed afternoon tea to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee...

Since we had been away on honeymoon over the Jubilee weekend and missed all the pomp and pageantry, this was our way of celebrating...

So of course we had to have a glass of champagne...

And lots of tea! It was nice to have good old British tea after only having Ceylon tea on honeymoon...

The afternoon tea itself was spectacular!

Each of the patisserie pieces was made to represent an iconic piece of fashion worn by the Queen or other members of the Royal Family...

For example one of Kate Middleton's fascinators...

The Queen's hats and handbags...

And the savories were delicious too! I always get special treatment when I go for afternoon tea at classy establishments as they give me my own selection of vegetarian sandwiches - meaning we get double what you usually would!

Of course at The Berkley the afternoon tea is endless anyway, and we had seconds of almost everything...

Princess Eugenie's strange fascinator from the royal wedding even made an appearance as a profiterole...

And of course the crown had to feature somewhere...

We even got to take home the leftovers in pretty pink handbags - much to the husband's embarrassment!

But the leftovers were delicious!!!!!

It was such a lovely way to keep the celebration of our wedding going for a few last days before it was back to work - and back to reality with a bump!

Naughty...

Hey Everyone...

I hope you are all well! Things have been so hectic I feel like my feet haven't touched the ground! I have so much still to blog about from the last two months - I'm not sure how I am going to do it all - but it means a lot to me to blog about it all!

But for a now a short interim blog - my first sponsored post! I want to be honest and say that I was approached to write this post - but I am going to be completely honest in it - so here goes!

I was asked to review the new Mexican range of pizzas by dominos pizza. Now dominos is usually a big treat and I admit I haven't had it in a while - trying to be healthy and not each fast food. However, take away pizza was a lifesaver when we were doing up the flat (and had no cooker, let alone plates etc). So when I was asked my mouth did start to water and I couldn't wait to order...

Anya wanted some!

...However, I am a big whimp when it comes to spicy food, and so I was a bit reluctant to order the Mexican vegetarian pizza - so the husband came to the rescue and ordered the Mexican chicken pizza! I did love the look of the sour cream drizzle on their Mexican pizzas and so I ordered my own create your own with it on!

My create your own!

I just love the ease of takeaway pizza - although I did spill dip all over my lovely Cath Kidston esk PJs :(

My pizza was delicious (as were the mini waffles we ordered as an extra treat) but then I have always liked Dominos pizza! The husband liked his Mexican pizza, but after halfway through (plus he also ordered some chicken dippers - eyes too big for his tummy) he had to stop as he was both too full and too hot. Now he's not the biggest spicey eater, but I have to conclude that this Mexican range is HOT - well it should be shouldn't it. But I would say only order it if you really are a fan of the hot stuff (but definately get the sour cream drizzle - it was yummy).

The Husband's Mexican Chicken Pizza!

Oh and what happened to the other half of the pizza you ask - well the husband kept it for cold breakfast (I love cold pizza for breakfast) but when we got up in the morning it was mysteriously on the floor of the kitchen...

...Looks like Anya likes a bit of hot stuff!

Our 6 Year Anniversary...

Hey Everyone...

This post is a little out of order, but I really wanted to share it with you! Just a few days before our big day, the husband and I celebrated our 6th anniversary. As we were going to have to revert back to zero very soon, we wanted to make a day of it.

The husband took me for lunch at a little cafe near his work...

Then we took a relaxing stroll around the park to soak up the beautiful sunshine...

Then in the evening we recreated our first two dates with dinner at Francesco's...

Before heading to bowling alley for a game of pool and some fun...

We even wore the same outfits we wore on our first date!

It was so lovely to recreate our first few moments together so close to the wedding! I still can't quite below it was 6 whole years ago. But now there is a new chapter to our story...

The Video...

Hey Everyone...

I hope you're all well and enjoying the glorious sunshine today! I have been stuck indoors working all day - I knew I should have become a teacher! Anyway, I am afraid I misled you all into believeing my wedding posts were over - unfortunately I made one little oversight...

Our amazing wedding video! I wish I could post the whole thing on you tube - but as it is over an hour long it would be a slight nightmare. You'll just have to believe me that it is amazing. My husband's company film weddings and so as a lovely gift they filmed our day for free.

Then my new husband edited it all together - hence why it has only just been finished! But oh my it was worth the wait. Reliving the ceremony and every special moment of the day is such a precious thing! I am so glad we had it filmed - the day passes so quickly, it's such a blessing to be able to go back and see it all again in all it's detail.

Watching it for the first time I was holding back the tears - It really was such a special day. Just to give you a little sneak peak, a few bits of the wedding video have made their way onto You Tube - so here you go....

I hope you like it...

The Honeymoon...

Hey Everyone,

Time seems to be flying by and I have been so busy lately that I haven't had much chance to blog! I have so much to catch up on, I need to knuckle down and write some posts. But for now I wanted to share my last wedding related post...

On the Monday after the wedding, my new husband and I flew off for the honeymoon of a lifetime. To....

The Maldives!

As someone who has never been further than Europe and never on a long haul flight - it was a big experience!

We flew overnight from Heathrow into Colombo in Sri Lanka, and then took a one hour flight to the capital of The Maldives - Male. From there we took a sea plane to our Island. It was such a magical experience - the sea plane in particular! It was so small it looked as if it could barely hold two passengers, but somehow 16 of us fit in.

When we arrived it was early evening and beautifully warm. We were welcomed with refreshing drinks and taken to our water villa!

It was just stunning, a villa to ourselves, out over the beautiful sea, with our own private deck and a jacuzzi, and uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean...

The island, Kuramathi, was one of the largest in The Maldives and there was so much to do. I learnt to snorkel, we took a sunset cruise into the ocean (and saw sharks from the boat), we say string rays being fed, had a couples massage on a jetty out over the sea, had a night time jacuzzi, and deep sea snorkelled, swimming with sharks.

It really was magical. We watched a movie under the stars, drank cocktails all day, swam in a stunning infinity pool, spotted so many species of wildlife, walked along the sandback that disappears into the ocean and took a trip to the neighbouring local island.

I could tell you so much more, but it just won't capture the beauty of it all - so instead here are some photographs...

Can you spot the shark?

We were so sad when it was time to leave, we promised each other that we would go back! We couldn't have wished for a better start to our married life - a holiday in paradise!
