A Very Special Day...

Hey everyone...

I hope you all had a lovely weekend! Ours was extra special as on Friday we travelled up to Staffordshire to celebrate a wedding!

My friend from university Shona & Simon! Doesn't she look beautiful...

...And don't they look so happy!

The church was beautiful!

And it was lovely to catch up with my other uni friend Lucy!

Next it will be us! Less than 4 months to go!

And this was the gift we made them!

It was a beautiful day, Shona looked stunning and they had a lovely reception! We were very lucky to be invited! Shona and Simon has obviously worked hard to make it a really perfect day! We wish them all the joy and happiness in the world for their future together! I know they will be soo happy together!

Just A Quickie...

Hey everyone...

Just a quickie blog tonight, as it's such a busy week! Tomorrow is my last day at work this week, and I'm in central London which I love! After work I am meeting up with some friends for dinner!

Then Friday is a big day! I will blog all about it when I'm back, but I probably won't be able to blog again until Saturday!

So today I just wanted to show you some bunting I made this evening for a friend to give as a birthday present...

I really hope her friend will like it!

I wanted to thank you all for all your lovely ideas so far for my birthday party! But I need more! I really want to have a fantastic party, so any crafty ideas would be great, also if you know any blogs that have cool printables I would be forever grateful!

So far I have been scouring pinterest for ideas and have a few! But the more the merrier!

Also don't forget to enter my giveaway which ends on Tuesday! There is a button over there >>>>

A Little Bit Of Help...

Hey Everyone...

I hope all your weeks have got off to a good start!? I am very tired this week, I think my blogging might be lacking a little. So I wanted to give you a little task to help me with this week!

The end of February means time for a birthday celebration! This year is especially important, can you guess why?

It's a leap year! So I will be six years old! Yep I'm not crazy promise! I was born on a leap year!

So for my 6th birthday I have decided to have a thrifty children's pyjama party (with an adult twist). I need your help to think of lots of fun and games to have to last us all evening!

Here are my ideas so far:

  • Pass The Parcel
  • Musical Bumps
  • Party Bags
And classic food such as jelly and ice cream and party rings!

But I would really love to make this party fantastic! I know you girls have a wealth of crafty knowledge and blog knowledge, so any suggestions of relevant blogs - particularly ones with free tutorials or printables for parties! Especially if they have a bit of a pink theme!

Also any ideas for activities and games (remember an adult twist! Alcohol needs to be involved at some point) would be great!

So ladies - do you accept my challenge?

Cupcakes & Gigging...

Hey Everyone...

Hope you all had a lovely weekend! Once again it went far too quickly for me! I am all out of order with my blogging as I just HAD to show you all my lovely purchases yesterday! But I had a great time last week too!

Last Thursday a work colleague from old job came round for dinner. We had just started to get to know each other before I left, so it was lovely to catch up! She is such a fantastic girl, right on my wavelength I think.

Well I made an effort (as we don't have people round very often) and I baked some caramel cupcakes from The Hummingbird Bakery! Even if I do say so myself they were delicious...

I even piped on little hearts to practice my skills! Luckily Holly loved them too and I her home with some in a box! I also cooked (which very rarely happens) and made a falafel mushroom, and goats cheese burger with sweet potatoe fries! It was so yummy and not too unhealthy, so I will definately be cooking it again!

Holly then sent me a gorgeous little thank you card the next day, which I really wasn't expecting! I love having guests and would love to host more dinner parties - but all my friends live far away! Any ideas how I could have more?

Then on Friday it was time for another of The Fiance's gigs! And this one was by far the best so far! The venue (The Horn - St.Albans) was packed, and he absolutely rocked the crowd! I hope it really boosted his confidence as he was FANTASTIC...

It was nice to have a busy week last week! Especially when it was filled with such lovely things! This week should be a bit quieter! Although I have a big event on Friday that I will blogging about soon!

Have a great week!

Raindrops On Roses & Whiskers On Kittens...

... Here are a few of my favourite things...

Hey Everyone...

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend! Mine has been fairly relaxed which has been lovely! I got some chores and errands done, which is nice to tick off my list!

I have also been very naughty and broken one of my resolutions (which you can read here) and have bought myself some lovely things! I just couldn't resist and none of them were particular expensive! But they do add up! Oh well I will console myself with their prettiness!

Four Little Cake Forks All In A Row!

Ooooo this picture makes me want to squeal! I have been trying to find vintage cake forks for ages! I have such a lovely collection of china and always serve cake, but have never had any cake forks to eat them with! In the end I found these (non-vintage) pretty little things in a local homeware shop! Eeeeek!

Then today we made a trip to IKEA and I treated myself to these beauties...

Beautiful Rosali & Stripey Fabrics!
I CANNOT wait to use these beautiful fabrics for something! It will have to be a special project - all for myself - as I love them just too much to give away! Any suggestions!?

Buying these fabrics and seeing their awesomeness made me need to organise my fabrics a la Sew Ray Me who inspired me to pile them all up neatly on display!

Such A Pretty Pile
Whilst in IKEA I also picked up these lovely Christmas themed cupcake cases - they were reduced to 99p so I will stash them away until next year!

Although I am still looking for a lovely glass jar to use inspiration from the lovely Gem to show off all my lovely cupcake cases! No luck so far!

Perfect For Teeny Tiny Cupcakes!
I have also taken inspiration from another lovely Gem who used little jars for storing little baking bits! Although in my case I have raided my collection of jars to organise all my buttons - colour coded - into pretty little jars!

You might have noticed above that they have taken their place next to the pretty pile of fabrics - oooo it almost looks like and actual sewing area, which makes me smile - alot!

The movement of fabric meant that I needed a new place for all my lovely wool. So when I saw this pretty basket when I popped to TIGER today I had to get it!

Doesn't it look so homely, filled with wool! This is also next to my basket of fabric scraps and the buttons in jars, and the pile of pretty fabric! Oh it looks so lovely!

Whilst in TIGER I also happened upon this beaut! It's a huge wooden peg!

 A Steal At Only £1

I plan to use the Cath Kidston wallpaper samples I got a long time ago, to cover it and then use it to hold our post on a door or wall! I will show you all when it is done!

Lastly, I have some lovely blooms which have really been brightening my days!

Remember that little plant I bought from Fortnum & Mason? (here) Well just look at it now!

And on Thursday, my lovely work colleague from my old job came round for dinner and brought me these beautiful roses!

My Favourite! Pretty Pink Rosies!

And these sweet little bulbs have also been blooming! I found them looking forlorn on a little shelf in Tesco (reduced to only £1.55) and had to bring them home to care for them. And they are thriving!

*Phew* That felt like a long post!

But full of beauty and prettiness and cheer!

Just what I needed before another long week!

Happy Weekend!

A Change Of Plan...

Hey everyone...

Hope you've all had a great week! Mine has been rather busy, but in a good way!

Unfortunately though I have some bad news! Only a handful of people signed up to my January re-gifting swap and therefore I have decided not to go ahead with it! I must apologise to those of you who did sign up, but it seems everyone was very lucky this year and didn't have any unwanted presents!

So to make up for the lack of swap I have decided to hold a little giveaway instead which I will be posting about very soon! Then I will have to get my thinking cap on to come up with a better idea for a swap you can all join in with!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Keep an eye out for the giveaway and have a lovely weekend everyone!

A Little Bit Of Crafting...

Hey everyone...

I must apologise, I haven't had a chance to catch up on any of your blogs as things have been pretty busy with my new job! Thank you for all the lovely comments on my last post! I thoroughly suggest you all have a treat day every now and then!

Although I have been non-stop busy, I just managed to make time to do some crafting this evening! This Friday is the fiance's sister's birthday! You may remember that I made her a purse for Christmas - here and she loved it so much she asked me to make her a matching card holder for her oyster card!

So here is my attempt...

It's small, but a perfect size!

And I have reinforced it with some pretty polka dot card until the oyster card is in it's place! I made up the pattern myself, I just hope that she likes it!

Then I wanted to make a pretty card to go with it! I had been looking on folksy and found some inspiration to make this card...

Bunting Birdie Card

I used some pretty Cath Kidston ribbon that the fiance's sister bought me for Christmas to make the bunting...

And then personalised it! And then had to make a tag to go with it...

What do you think ladies?! (I still assume there are no men who read my blog!) Any good?!

Perfect Primrose...

Hey everyone...

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Ours was really lovely, even if it did disappear in a flash!

Saturday was a busy day! I made a last minute appointment to see our venue florist, so we went to meet them! The florist was Spanish?  Italian? Maybe!? And his use of tenses was very confusing! We think he knows what we want - fingers crossed!

Then we popped in to visit my mum, who is trying to organise a car for us for the wedding so that we can be driven to the great park near the hotel for photographs - sounds like we might be getting a vintage American Ford Convertible!

And then we stopped off on the way home to order the suits for our best man and ushers! All in all a very productive day towards the wedding!

All that hard work called for a day off on Sunday. Back when I was at university, the fiance and I had limited time together, so every now and then we would plan a 'Treat Day' for each other. We haven't had one in a long time, but the fiance decided Sunday was mine!

It was a lovely day! After a nice lie in, the fiance brought me breakfast in bed...

Perfect Sunday Morning!

Then after a long relaxing, hard earned bath, we drove down to Primrose Hill to the wonderful Primrose Bakery! The fiance treated me to any cupcakes I wanted...

A mini chocolate bomb & a rose cupcake!
...Before we headed up to the Hill for a walk... on the way we happened upon a Salvation Army band who were playing beautifully...

We walked to the top of the hill - passing Narnia on the way...

... And the beautiful view was waiting!

The whole of London in all it's glory!

And us enjoying the sights!

After that it was back home to relax, before the fiance took me out for a lovely Indian meal, and the day was wrapped up with some good TV and some expensive champagne to finally toast my new job!

Such a perfect day - if only they could all be the same!

Happy Blue Monday everyone!

Pretty Little Things...

Hey Everyone...

Thank you again for all the lovely comments on my last post! You have all been so kind leaving me wonderful messages! I really do appreciate them! It's so nice to be getting excited about the wedding, and thank you for all your good wishes!

Well I am all caught up on my adventures, I can take it easy with my blogging. Tonight I just have a few pretty little things to show you!

Today was my first day of work in my second location, Buckingham Gate in central London. My first time doing the commute went well! 30 minute walk, followed my 30 minute tube and 10 minute walk at the other end. And the 10 minute walk is through the lovely Green Park...

The sky over green park!

The walk back this evening was pretty tiring though and my feet and back ache now! But I am sure I will get used to it soon enough! The people there are lovely, and I think the work will be really fascinating and great experience, I am so excited I can't wait to get stuck in! I also love being in central London, walking past the palace, and being in the hubbub of the city is such a nice experience! Although the proximity of shops may turn out badly on my bank balance.

I wanted to show you this lovely picture too...

I blogged about the Christmas presents I had made this year - here, but had forgotten to take a picture before giving this heart bunting to my friend Lucy. The hearts are made from strips of fabric sewn onto card! It's a technique I took from Mollie Makes and I think it's perfect for using up small pieces of fabric that you love! Luckily Lucy must like it too as she has hung it across her bed!

I have also been a lucky girl recently and had some lovely bunches of flowers from the fiance!

Pretty pink roses and stunning vintage cream and pink roses - which I have displayed in one of the glass bottles I am collecting for the wedding *hint*

Also remember that little plant I bought from Fortnum & Mason last Friday - here - well look at it now!

It has grown so much and started to bloom, which along with my lovely roses, and new job, and the wedding is putting a huge smile on my face! I don't think I have been this happy for a long long time!
