A Party & Projects & Lots Lots More...

Hey Everyone...

Lots has been happening with me, but life has been so hectic I haven't had a chance to blog about it all. I'm so far behind, but I will blog about it all eventually. Tonight, I wanted to share what I did on Saturday.

Thursday was the fiance's mum's birthday and so Saturday night she was having a party to celebrate! I offered to make some cupcakes, and decided to make Strawberry Daiquiri Cupcakes from The Hummingbird Bakery Cake Days cookbook.

Here they are...

They weren't too difficult to make, but the recipe was meant to make 'mini' cupcakes, so the amounts didn't quite transfer to normal cupcakes size - there wasn't enough icing and the mixture only made 11. Still they went down a storm at the party especially as they contained rum, and I would definately make the again for a girly night - but in mini form this time as they were designed!

It was a great opportunity to dress up, which I don't get very often. This is what I wore....

Pinky floral dress with lace from Primark and cream cardi from New Look, with some pretty 'blush' high heeled court shoes from New Look. Here I am ready to go...

The fiance is not very good at getting flattering pictures of me! I think I looked far better than the picture does justice for... or at least I hope so!

Earlier in the day we had popped to Barnet Furniture Centre, which is charity that sells on old furniture, employing people with disabilities to renovate them first. There was some beautiful furniture there and we will definately head back regularly to find some bargains - the prices were fantastic. All I picked up on Saturday were some knitting needles...

30p!

I have borrowed a knitting book from the library and am determined to teach myself to knit soon! I just need some wool now!

And then I made a ring for Gem from Gem's Little World to give her on Wednesday at Big Girl Craft Club as she so kindly requested one! I hope she'll like it.

Then it was off to the party, where the fiance followed up his gig earlier in the week with more playing. This time will a full band! It was a great night, I love helping in the kitchen and listening to the fiance play!

Lastly, I just wanted to show you the before pictures for two WIP! The first is the tray that I got at the car boot which I am painting pink...

And our coffee table, which we are staining white....

I can't wait to show you the tada pictures very soon!

I still have to blog about the lovely Faith, Hope & Charity Swapping Swap and the gig I went to last night, plus the tada pictures from above and some more news. So stay tuned....
